Blue Moon!...Class of '86

Blue Moon! Who in high school around Monrovia n the 70's and 80's didn't recognize that play call. Our Late Great Coach, Alexander Kojo Anderson aka Psycho, installed this signature basketball play called Blue Moon. Both Saints and Friskies ran this play during their games. Blue Moon came with a full complement of options that included high-low picks, elbow jumpers, baseline cuts, point guard sets, wing cuts, corner shots etc. etc. In this game at Sports Commission, Friskies Senior star point guard, Juliana Koffa #5, known on the court as "Special K", pushes the ball up the floor, most likely setting up to run one of those sets. Blue Moon relied on the discretion of the point guard to read defenses and check in and out of options. This was the genius of Psycho.
