SFAA LIBERIA CHAPTER
Edward Sharpe
Plans are underway to re-activate SFAA Chapter in Liberia.
Edward Sharpe '86, who resides in Liberia, will lead the effort to reactivate Saints Friskies Chapter in Liberia. Speaking with SFAA President from France, Mr. Sharpe stated that as soon as he arrives in Liberia, he will convene a meeting no later than August 8, 2017, to begin the reactivation process.
Mr. Sharpe contacted the current President of the chapter, Wynston Doe, to inform him of his plans. Mr. Doe responded that he is definitely on board and is excited to get the chapter functioning again.
As soon as the chapter is reactivated, we will publish a formal announcement. In the mean time, if you live in Liberia and are familiar with Mr. Sharpe, please contact him about getting involved. If you need his contact information, please email us at sfaa@stcsphs.org.

STC Needs assessment report
Natu Youh Strathy, '86, contacted SFAA President to inform him that she has returned to the US from Libera. Mrs. Strathy also reported that during her visit to St. Teresa's Convent, she found that there are students who desperately need nutritional support, while the school needs assistance with paying off the debt on their generator.
Since Sister Evelina, Principal of STC, was out of the country at the time, SFAA's President contacted STC's Vice Principal Wokie Kpanyor to discuss the next step in addressing the school's immediate needs. He asked that the school make a formal request in writing, documenting their needs along with the cost of addressing those needs. Mr. Koffa explained to Ms. Kpanyor that this is necessary for preparing grant proposals seeking corporate sponsorship and other charitable funding.

COUPle PERFORMs
SUrgeries in liberia
Dr. Kevin and Mrs. Natu Youh Strathy, STC Class of '86, traveled to Liberia in June to perform reconstructive surgery on children who are severely scarred or have other facial deformities.
Dr. Strathy, a plastic surgeon, along with his wife Natu, a surgical nurse, have performed over 80 surgeries in Liberia since December 2016, free of charge. They dedicate their medical training, time, and limited resources toward healing Liberians who are in desperate need of such medical services.
Dr. Kevin and Mrs. Natu Youh Strathy were honored with a humanitarian award at SFAA's convention in May 2017.
